BASWA Acoustical Plaster Systems

A technical overview of the BASWA product line, organized by system type, finish, and accessory.

Choosing the right system depends on substrate, geometry, and program. From there, a versatile ecosystem of finishes, colors, and accessories applies across systems, keeping aesthetic decisions open well into the design process.

BASWA Phon

BASWA Phon is the original seamless acoustical plaster system, designed to deliver seamless, acoustic ceilings and walls in versatile geometries and finish aesthtics. It is used in commericial and residential settings where speech clarity and a visually quiet finish are central to the design intent.

Following a stable substrate, BASWA Phon integrates a sound absorbent panel with a thinly applied marble finish, allowing the assembly to reach high NRC values at relatively modest thicknesses.

BASWA DTG

BASWA DTG is a direct‑to‑drywall grid acoustical system that provides the seamless look, durability, and high performance sound absorption expected from BASWA systems.

This system is often used for acoustic ceilings in commericial projects where construction speed is prioritized, but a monolithic, marble finish is still desired. It allows designers and contractors to align acoustic, visual, and scheduling goals.

BASWA Basic

BASWA Basic is an acoustical plaster system that offers greater impact resistance and expedited installation timelines for flat ceilings and walls providing a stable substrate. It is an ideal system for high-humidity environments that demand high performance sound absorption with versitle finish options.

This system excels at meeting project timeline constraints, with finish options that aenable the installation of the entire system in as few as 1 to 2 days.

BASWA Natural

BASWA Natural is the most sustainable acoustical plaster system available, that emphasizes natural content. It is suited to acoustic ceilings and walls, and can follow complex geometries over a stable substrate.

The system pairs a hemp and flax fiber-based acoustic panel finished with the recycled, natural stone aggregates which comprise BASWA finishes, It is often considered for residential projects with a strong focus on material expression and environmental framing.

BASWA Cool

BASWA Cool is an acoustical plaster system that combines sound absorption with draftless, noise-free radiant temperature control in a single continuous surface. It is designed to integrate hydronic cooling or heating behind the acoustic finish, supporting both comfort and a calm visual field in commercial or residential projects.

It is particularly relevant in high performance buildings that prioritize energy efficiency and occupant wellbeing.

Unsure which system fits your project?

System and finish selection depends on a few key variables: substrate type, ceiling geometry, acoustic performance targets, and whether thermal conditioning is part of the program.

The Technical Data page breaks down performance data across all systems, so you can easily compare options.
